Deepening Technical Expertise, Serving the World | Overseas Technicians Complete Specialized Refinish Technical Training
Recently, to further connect domestic and overseas technical service chains, unify refinish operation standards, and enhance overseas terminal service capabilities, Shichuang Technology organized a group of overseas technicians to begin an intensive, systematic study program covering the full refinish technical workflow at its headquarters training center. The training features a complete curriculum, with equal emphasis on theory and hands-on practice, and progresses step by step through four core modules: automotive paint product theory, precision color matching technology, surface sanding processes, and actual panel spraying practice.
Focusing on Color Matching Training, Strictly Controlling Color Difference
Color matching is the core challenge of automotive refinish. The instructor gave detailed explanations of toner properties, formula retrieval logic, light source comparison key points, and color difference correction techniques.
Overseas technicians used Shichuang Technology’s colorimeter to carry out formula mixing and test panel spraying, comparing color differences under multiple light sources. The instructor patrolled the site throughout, correcting operational issues one-on-one, while participants practiced repeatedly to solidify their color matching fundamentals.
Sanding Process Training, Mastering Surface Preparation Details
Surface preparation directly determines the final repair result. For different substrates and different paint surface defects, the training covered the full process of sanding consumable selection, sandpaper pairing, sanding techniques, surface roughness control, edge and corner treatment, and dust and oil removal.
Overseas technicians practiced hands-on, corrected improper sanding habits, mastered standardized sanding operation key points for different repair scenarios, and avoided later issues such as film blistering and loss of gloss caused by improper preliminary treatment.

Spraying Practice, Standardizing Refinish Application
Spraying practice was the key segment of this training. From spray gun adjustment, spraying pressure, gun movement speed, spray pattern control, and inter-coat interval time, to the complete application process for base coat and clear coat, environmental temperature and humidity control, and prevention and treatment of film defects, the instructor gave full demonstrations.
Overseas technicians took turns practicing on test panels, with the instructor correcting their movements and providing immediate analysis and solutions for on-site issues such as runs, orange peel, and loss of gloss. Everyone exchanged experience and synchronized with Shichuang Technology’s standardized spraying process..
Training Sharpens Skills, Graduation with Full Results
After assessments on all courses throughout the one-week program — intelligent color measurement and tinting, product theory, sanding preparation, and spraying practice — participants successfully received their graduation certificates. The certificate is a testament to the learning outcomes of this stage and a new starting point for technical output.
